Roger Schönbächler

Roger developed a strong interest in technology at an early age. His many years of experience in software development shaped a structured, disciplined, and precise way of working. In this environment, he learned how essential solid foundations, clear processes, and attention to the smallest details are for the quality of a result.

He particularly enjoyed designing and developing user interfaces. The combination of technology, design, and user experience shaped his eye for clear structures, balanced aesthetics, and precise detail. This understanding continues to form an important foundation of his photographic and film work today.

Through this technical perspective, Roger also discovered photography. In the beginning, he was primarily fascinated by the technology behind the camera and how the interplay of aperture and exposure influences an image. Over time, this curiosity developed into a deeper exploration of composition, visual impact, and visual language.

For him, photography became a form of balance that combines several dimensions: a connection to nature, space for creative expression, and the precision of technical control. Through this combination, he found an approach that helped him grow both professionally and personally.

His photographic development has gone through various phases. He dedicated himself intensively to individual areas, refined specific techniques, and developed a broad understanding of the different fields of photography. A particular focus lies in astrophotography, where technical knowledge, planning, patience, and creative sensitivity come together in a unique way.

Later, his interest increasingly shifted toward videography. In this field, he went through many learning stages a second time: from technical mastery to creative refinement and the conscious development of rhythm and narrative structure in moving images. He gained his first experiences behind the camera while producing music videos.

Another formative experience was his time at Fotoclub Sihlsee, where he met Erik and supported workshops. Working alongside other photography enthusiasts strengthened both his own visual perspective and his ability to clearly communicate creative and technical connections.

Today, Roger has solid expertise in photography and image editing. At the same time, his work places a strong emphasis on video, editing, color grading, and storytelling. His goal is not only to produce content with technical precision, but to shape it in a way that feels visually clear, atmospheric, and precise in its message.

At FRAME & FRAME, he brings this experience specifically into product photography. Technical accuracy and creative sensitivity work together: products and visual content are developed in a way that communicates quality, character, and brand identity in a clear and compelling manner.

Roger's work represents a balanced relationship between technology and creativity. Precision throughout the process, an awareness of aesthetics, and a clear understanding of visual impact form the foundation of his work at FRAME & FRAME.
